Race Assembly Description


OVERVIEW

You will not find a more comprehensive, consistent, and detailed assembly anywhere! All used and new race and high-end bikes deserve nothing less than this ultra-comprehensive treatment. Nothing is left to chance. This process can take up to five hours.


HIGHLIGHTS

Everything in Consumer Assembly
Everything in Frame Preparation
The most thorough inspection of parts
Advanced Cleaning (Ultrasonic Cleaning might be used)
Assemble with proper greases and specialty lubes
Bearing and other surfaces faced, chased, and reamed where applicable
Other bolt holes tapped and cleaned as required
Steel frames or forks - ask about necessary internal rust-protectant spray
Installing or changing most components
Minor Repair and Major Repair included
Discount on additional services purchased together (fittings, wheel building, etc.)
Quick check-over after a few miles to ensure everything is OK

COST

$275-$400 per bike


ELIGIBILITY

New and used bicycles OR a frameset with necessary parts OR a frame/frameset where I'll spec the parts


UPGRADES over Consumer Assembly

Nearly a complete disassembly
Bearing and frame surface preparation (reaming, facing, chasing, honing as required)
More detailed cleaning
Greatest level of inspection
Significant reduction for additional labor


UPGRADES over Overhaul

Basically everything as above but a "downgrade" would be less cleaning and only a nominal regreasing during the assembly.
