Extended Service Plan Policies

OVERVIEW

These Plans reduce the prices for labor, repairs, maintenance, and parts as well as provide additional savings on cleaning and mobile bicycle repair services for the duration of the Plan. Click here for a comparison chart breakdown.

GUIDELINES

  1. The Extended Service Plan (Plan) is for a Qualifying Bicycle.
  2. Plans are for traditional bicycles (road, cyclocross, time trial). Additional charges may apply for tandems, hard-core mountain bikes, and others.
  3. The initial bike is called the First Bike. The current bike is the Program Bike.
  4. Only one Program Bike per Plan at a time but Transfers are allowed in most Plans.
  5. All services rendered under a Plan are for the Program Bike.
  6. Some services apply to the First Bike only.
  7. Plans do not include parts.
  8. Discounts and labor are for repairs to essential components (not accessories).
  9. Home/Other Mechanics: Be forewarned: Fixing others' misadjustments or shoddy work is not covered and considered regular labor. Further, any unauthorized changes (parts or service) may void the Plan for that particular item or service.

QUALIFYING BICYCLES

All Program Bikes must be a Qualifying Bicycle (i.e., no department store or similar nikes). Other low-end bikes may not be worth a Plan but that's your decision. Electric bikes motors are not serviced at this time though I can do regular maintenance on them.

DISCOUNTS

Discounts only apply to work, parts, or services that I supply. Discounts are to be taken off the MSRP or regular price. No double discounts, discounts on sale items, or otherwise prohibited discounts.

Labor - My labor on or for Program Bikes

Parts - Discount applies to parts and accessories, some restrictions apply

Mileage - For my mobile repair services (delivery, pickups, other) of Program Bike but does not apply to food, tolls, ferries, hotels, incidentals, etc.

ADD-ONS

Additional services are available for a reduced charge and may be added at any time to the current Program Bike. This is for labor only; all parts are extra.

TRANSFER FEE

A charge assessed each time the Plan is switched to another Qualifying Bike even if it was previously enrolled in a Plan. The new Program Bike will given an Assessment or more. Transfer to another Qualifying Bike as often as you desire. The Qualifying Bike can be a friend's, family member's, friend of a friend, it doesn't matter.

FREE SERVICES

Some Plans offer free services for the First Bike's initial visit. These are a one-time deal for the first service appointment on the First Bike. In certain cases these services may be delayed and/or used for a future Program Bike.

CLEANING

Some Plans include free cleaning during servicing of the Program Bike. The Plans do not cover cleaning for the sake of cleaning, i.e. Program Bikes can't be dropped off specifically for cleaning unless the upcharge for cleaning is paid. Exceptionally dirty Program Bikes may require paid cleaning in order to service them properly at my discretion.

EXPEDITED SCHEDULING

Provided the parts are in stock and I'm available, you will be guaranteed a turnaround on the Program Bike within the specified time unless a serious situation presents itself. Some clever scheduling should minimize any issues.

UPGRADING A PLAN

The initial Plan may be Upgraded once within 30 days by paying the difference and a small Upgrade Fee. The enrollment date remains the same as the initial plan; only the expiration date is extended - it is not concurrent. No discounts or refunds for services or parts already rendered.

DURATION

The Plan begins when the First Bike is brought in for its initial visit and expires the specified amount of time later. No extensions, delays, or other increases in time once the ticker starts.

COST

All Extended Service Plans are sold at full price. There are no discounts, rebates, reimbursements, or refunds.

DOCUMENTATION

Each Program Bike will be fully documented with an Assessment. This includes serial numbers, condition, ergonomics, components, accessories, etc. The Plan will cover the components listed on this documentation sheet. Any changes or adjustments to the equipment may void the Plan for that particular item or service.

NOTES

The wise and frugal consumer will find many ways to squeeze every last bit of value from any of these Plans. It never hurts to ask. Any Plan entitles the owner to a certain amount of leeway when requesting additional or unlisted services.
